Stephen M. NeSmith, Jr.
Mr. Stephen M. NeSmith Jr. is the Managing Partner of NeSmith & NeSmith, P.C. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2010 and has built a career defined by extensive knowledge and experience in the complex area of immigration law. During the last 15 years, he has successfully navigated numerous cases, resolving a wide variety of intricate immigration concerns for a diverse range of clients.
Beyond his work in the courtroom, Mr. NeSmith is a recognized voice in the legal community, frequently advocating for the rights of immigrants and highlighting the vital impact they have on our country’s past and future. His commitment to the subject is reflected in his extensive writings, with articles published in The Birmingham News, The Montgomery Advertiser, and The Tuscaloosa News.
As the firm’s leader, he ensures that every client receives personalized attention and a strategic defense tailored to their specific needs. He is an active member of the State Bar of Alabama, the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). He is fluent in Spanish, allowing him to provide direct and compassionate counsel to the communities he serves.

Scott M. NeSmith
Mr. Scott M. NeSmith is a Senior Partner with NeSmith & NeSmith, P.C. He is a graduate of the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University, where he was honored as a Fellow with the Faulkner Law’s Public Interest Society. During law school, he completed several legal internships to build a strong foundation in practical litigation and client advocacy.
Through his dedicated service to the community, Mr. NeSmith developed a focused expertise in personal injury, criminal defense, and immigration law. He is passionate about protecting the rights of the most vulnerable and consistently acts in the best interest of his clients to ensure they receive fair treatment under the law.
Mr. NeSmith is an active member of the State Bar of Alabama, the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Like his brother, he is fluent in Spanish, providing essential legal counsel and representation to the Hispanic community.

Andrew H. Wright
Mr. Andrew H. Wright is an Attorney with NeSmith & NeSmith, P.C. He is a graduate of the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama. While attending law school, Mr. Wright gained significant experience in the Elder Law Clinic, where he provided estate planning services and helped clients secure control over the management of their finances and medical decisions.
Mr. Wright served as a law clerk for more than two years in a family court to the Honorable Robert T.R. Bailey. There, Mr. Wright garnered valuable experience and learned the intricacies of navigating matters of divorce and child custody. He reviewed and drafted final divorce decrees for more than 200 couples and conducted extensive legal research in highly litigated cases.
Additionally, Mr. Wright is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as a paralegal and supported Airmen and their families by assisting them with estate planning, securing powers of attorney, and processing claims. Mr. Wright also had the privilege to work with the Area Defense Counsel to help Airmen through the challenges of facing criminal charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. He is a member of the State Bar of Alabama.

Anna B. Hubbard
Anna Hubbard is an Attorney at NeSmith & NeSmith, P.C., where she is dedicated to guiding individuals and families through the complexities of the U.S. immigration system. Her practice focuses on a wide range of immigration matters, from family-based petitions to complex employment and humanitarian cases. Anna is licensed by the Supreme Court of Utah to practice law.
Before joining NeSmith & NeSmith as an attorney, Anna served as a J.D. Case Manager for the firm, where she was responsible for overseeing and training legal assistants and interns in immigration case work. Her passion for human rights and immigration law was further developed through numerous legal experiences:
Immigration Legal Services (Salt Lake City, UT): Researched, prepared, and compiled applications for various immigration statuses.
AG Immigration (Irvine, CA): Researched and drafted visa applications for EB-1 and EB-2 NIW visas, and prepared responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) from USCIS.
BYU Law Community Legal Clinic (Provo, UT): Served as a Student Attorney handling immigration, real estate, and small claims cases.
APPG Freedom of Religion or Belief (London, UK): Interned at the All-Party Parliamentary Group, researching and drafting reports, speeches, and written questions for Members of Parliament on international religious freedom issues.
Anna earned her Juris Doctor in April 2024 from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, where she was an Executive Editor for the Education Law Journal. She also received her Bachelor of Arts in History, magna cum laude, from Utah State University, with an emphasis on the Middle East & Asia and a minor in Religious Studies.
